Connection Issues
Connection issues prevent you from connecting your social media accounts to IDEQO. This guide helps you troubleshoot and fix common connection problems.
Common Connection Problems
Section titled “Common Connection Problems”Connection Failed During Setup
Section titled “Connection Failed During Setup”Symptoms:
- Error message when trying to connect an account
- Redirected back to IDEQO with an error
- “Connection Failed” notification
Common Causes:
- Network connectivity issues
- Browser extensions interfering with redirects
- Platform-specific requirements not met
Fix:
- Check your internet connection - Ensure you have a stable connection
- Disable browser extensions - Ad blockers or privacy extensions can interfere with OAuth redirects
- Try a different browser - Some browsers block redirects or cookies more aggressively
- Try again - Temporary platform outages can cause connection failures
”No Professional Account Found” (Instagram)
Section titled “”No Professional Account Found” (Instagram)”Symptoms:
- Error message: “No Instagram Professional account was found”
- Connection fails immediately
Fix:
- Make sure your Instagram account is a Business or Creator account
- Go to Instagram app → Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account
- Complete the setup process
- Try connecting again in IDEQO
Connection Expired or Invalid
Section titled “Connection Expired or Invalid”Symptoms:
- Integration shows as “Inactive” or “Disconnected”
- Error message: “Authentication failed” or “Token expired”
- Posts fail to publish with authentication errors
Fix:
- Go to Integrations (
/integrations) - Find the disconnected integration
- Click Reconnect or Connect
- Log in to the platform and grant permissions
- The connection should be restored
”Access Denied” or “Permission Denied”
Section titled “”Access Denied” or “Permission Denied””Symptoms:
- Platform shows “Access Denied” during connection
- IDEQO shows “Permission Denied” error
Fix:
- Grant all requested permissions - Click “Allow” for all permissions during setup
- Check platform account settings - Ensure you have admin rights for the page/account
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting - Refreshing permissions often resolves this
Platform-Specific Issues
Section titled “Platform-Specific Issues”Instagram Connection Issues
Section titled “Instagram Connection Issues”Common Problems:
- Account must be Business or Creator (not Personal)
- Facebook Page must be connected to Instagram account
- You must be an admin of the linked Facebook Page
Fix:
- Convert to Business/Creator account in Instagram app
- Link Instagram to a Facebook Page via Instagram settings
- Verify you are an admin of the Facebook Page
- Try connecting again
Facebook Connection Issues
Section titled “Facebook Connection Issues”Common Problems:
- Must connect a Facebook Page (not personal profile)
- Must be an admin of the Page
- Page must be published
Fix:
- Ensure you are connecting a Page, not your personal profile
- Verify you are an admin of the Page
- Check that the Page is published
- Try connecting again
LinkedIn Connection Issues
Section titled “LinkedIn Connection Issues”Common Problems:
- Company Pages: Must be a Super Admin or Content Admin
- Personal Profiles: Supported, but may have limited API access depending on LinkedIn settings
Fix:
- For Company Pages, verify your admin role in LinkedIn
- For Personal Profiles, ensure your account is active and verified
- Check LinkedIn’s API status if connection fails repeatedly
- Try connecting again
YouTube Connection Issues
Section titled “YouTube Connection Issues”Common Problems:
- Google Account must have a YouTube Channel created
- Channel must be verified for certain features (like custom thumbnails)
Fix:
- Go to YouTube Studio and ensure a channel exists for your Google Account
- Verify your channel phone number for full feature access
- Grant all requested permissions during connection
Shopify Connection Issues
Section titled “Shopify Connection Issues”Common Problems:
- Production: Must install the IDEQO app via the Shopify App Store
- Development: Direct connection might fail if not configured correctly
Fix:
- For live stores, search for “IDEQO” in the Shopify App Store and click “Install”
- Follow the installation flow to connect your store
Reconnecting an Integration
Section titled “Reconnecting an Integration”If an integration becomes disconnected:
- Go to Integrations (
/integrations) - Find the disconnected integration (it will show as “Inactive” or have an error badge)
- Click Reconnect or Connect
- Log in to the platform
- Grant permissions again
- The integration should reconnect successfully
Preventing Connection Issues
Section titled “Preventing Connection Issues”Keep Connections Active
Section titled “Keep Connections Active”- Don’t revoke permissions - If you revoke IDEQO’s access on the platform, the connection will break
- Don’t change passwords frequently - Some platforms invalidate tokens when passwords change
- Monitor connection status - Check your integrations regularly for any issues
Platform Account Requirements
Section titled “Platform Account Requirements”Make sure your platform accounts meet requirements:
- Instagram: Business or Creator account, linked to Facebook Page
- Facebook: Page (not profile), you’re an admin
- LinkedIn: Personal Profile or Company Page (admin required)
- YouTube: Channel created and verified
- TikTok: Active account with video posting enabled
- Pinterest: Active account (Business account recommended for analytics)
Getting Help
Section titled “Getting Help”If you’ve tried everything and still can’t connect:
- Note the error message - Write down the exact error you see
- Check browser console - Look for JavaScript errors (F12 → Console)
- Note the platform - Which platform are you trying to connect?
- Contact support - Contact support with these details
